2. This course made me leaned more technology such as blogs, the online dictionary that I've never tried to do it before but now,  I knew how important it was.

Short summary of each chapter

Chapter1: Recount
Recount is used to tell stories that already happened in the past  

Chapter2: Narrative
The meaning of narrative is a story or a description of a series of events or a particular way of explaining or understanding events. This chapter is used when you tell or write any story such as fiction, novel and etc.

Chapter3: Descriptive
This chapter is used to explain something, explain appliance, type, definition and etc.

Chapter4: Procedure
This chapter is used to explain steps of something.

Chapter5: Comparison and Contrast
This chapter is used to tell difference and similarity of things 

Chapter6: Cause and Effect
This chapter is used to find cause and effect of stories, you have to know about this because it will make you more understand the stories.

Chapter7: Definition and Classification
This chapter is used to explain the meaning of words and we can identify the types of something well.

Chapter8: Exemplification
This chapter is used when you want to give example, there are lots of words to use that you didn't know.

Chapter9: Problems and Solution
This chapter will make you know the identity words that you see, you will know that is the problems or solution.


I think this subject is really very useful and important because there are lots of things that I didn't know and I knew in this course, that's why I have to learn.

  On  Monday1 May 2017. We learned chapter: Problem and Solution continue.

In the first of the class, the teacher checked that the students finished their homework. If they didn't do their homework, they can't attend the class until finished. After that, the teacher gave us the corrective feedback of the homework, it used for almost 2 hours. The last activity in this class and this semester too was whatching the cooking video of our friends.

This was the last class in this semester, I really enjoy more than every week passed  because there were less of subject matter and friends's cooking video were very fun, it wasn't stress and the teacher was feel good, it made us feel good too. 

This class stopped here with good mood because the time was over.

    On Monday10 April 2017. We learned chapter 9: Problem and Solution.

In the first of the class, the teacher told us about the date that we had to do the final examination, then we started to learned chapter 9: Problem and Solution. We read  the example text. The teacher showed us  about marker of problem and solution.

 Problem and Solution

  Problem and Solution is a pattern of organization where information in a passage is expressed as a dilemma or concerning issue (a problem) and something that was, can be, or should be done to remedy this issue (solution or attempted solution). The problem and solution text structure may seem like it would be easy to recognize, but it can be moderately difficult to identify because it is frequently confused with the cause and effect pattern of organization, as they both have relational structures; however, if you read the passage and look specifically for both a problem and a solution to the problem, you should find it pretty easy to distinguish from cause and effect, as cause and effect passages do not propose solutions to any negative occurrences within the passage but rather just explain why or how they happen.

   On Monday10 April 2017. We learned chapter 7: Definition and Classification continue and Chapter 8: Exemplication.


  In the first of the class, the teacher gave us the corrective feedback of the exercise2 because last week. We had to do this at home, then we started to learn next chapter, charpter8: Exemplification.

Exemplification writing uses specific, vivid examples for the purpose of adding more information to explain, persuade, define, or illustrate a general idea. Likewise, exemplification provides solid support and strong evidence to prove the writer's main statement. Appropriate examples also create interest in a writing assignment.
By supplying specific examples, the writer adds additional who, what, when, where, why, and how information to elaborate on the main idea of a paragraph or essay. Good examples are logically related to the topic, and provide the mental imagery needed by the reader to make important connections. Making these connections with suitable examples is important, so that the author's intended meaning, difficult concepts, or unfamiliar ideas are made known and clearly understood. 

We had to do the exercise: text 1,2,3 and 4. Next, activity was watching the video that we cooked.

In that day, I really like this lesson because it was very easy to me when I tried to do the exercises.

On Monday 3 April 2017. We learned chapter 7: Definition and Classification.


First of all, when the teacher came into the class, she announced the scroll of midterm then,  she described percent of the scroll. We started to learn chapter7: Definition and Classification.First, the teacher taught about ' What is definition and classification. When we understood about that, we had to do the exercise skill Practice 1, circle the definition markers, highlight the technical terms, and underline the definition and did skill Practice 2,3 too, then she gave us the corrective feedback of the exercise. After 10 minutes break, we had to read the text1,2 and answer the question. We had to stop here because the time was over.  

Classification vs Definition - What's the difference?

As nouns the difference between classification and definition

 is that classification is the act of forming into a class or classes; a distribution into groups, as classes, orders, families, etc, according to some common relations or attributes while definition is (semantics) a statement of the meaning of a word or word group or a sign or symbol (dictionary definitions).

    On Monday 20 March 2017. We learned chapter 5: Comparison and Contrast continue.


     First of all the class, the teacher gave us the sheet, we had to do the exercise before because the teacher had to go out to another place. After around 30 minutes, she came back to the classroom, then the teacher gave us the corrective answer of the exercise on page 43 - 45. We studied while the fire alarm turns on. Everyone was frightened because we didn't know what happened. Next, we learned to continue and did exercise continue. 

Cause/Effect is used to show how to the facts or concepts result due to other facts, events or concepts. Words that signal this type of text structure are because, since, therefore, if ... then, as a result of, thus, and hence. A graphic organizer may be used to represent the relationship between the causes and effects.

      On Monday 13 March 2017. We learned chapter 5: Comparison and Contrast continue.


      First of all the class, the teacher suggested us to check the 

answer of homework with friends, then she gave us the corrective 

answer. We had to read the text " Men and Women: Do they 

speak the same language? " And did the exercises from the text 

because we didn't read from home, that made the teacher was 

pungent. 

10 minutes left, the teacher gave us the corrective answer again. 

Next, we use an hour and a half to do the midterm test. That was 

all that I learned on that day.


  I felt relax with this lesson because I read the sheet from home, it made me understood the lesson that the teacher taught more.The text was interesting so much, it was the story about the difference between men and women.

      On Monday 6 March 2017. We learned chapter 4: Procedure continue.

     We read the text on page 33, it about how to use the toaster. 

After that, the teacher assigned us to do the exercise on page 34. 

Next, we went back to the first page, the teacher taught us about 

definition, purpose, Types of Procedural text, text organization and 

language Features, finished chapter 4. Before we started to learn 

the next chapter. First, the teacher showed the picture of oranges 

and apples, then we had to tell differences and similarities of them. 

We had to create the diagram of the text example 1: that we learned. 

We started to learn chapter 5: comparison and contrast. We did 

exercise from the text1 on page 37. We stopped learning here 

because the time was over.

    In that class, I had no any stain at all because I thought this lesson was very easy for me. I can separate between differences and similarities, so I felt very happy in that class.

  On Monday 20 February  we started learned chapter 4: Procedure 


  Fist of all the class, we had to talk about the food that I can make. 

After that, we watched the video of Jamie Oliver made the perfect 

omelet by without subtitle to checked that we understood or not, 

then we had to watch it again with subtitle to check our 

understanding.

We started to learn chapter 4: Procedure. Next, we had to do the 

exercise, then the teacher gave us a corrective feedback. 

That was all activities that we did because we had to do the quiz.


I felt nervous all the time because, at the end of the class, we had to do the quiz that made me didn't have concentrate.

On Monday 6 February  we started learned chapter 3: Descriptive


We had to tell our partner what we learned last week, then we had to discussed with the partner about the answer of komodo dragon's story. 
The teacher gave us the corrective feedback. 
After that, we did the exercise B: Match each word with the correct meaning and the teacher gave us the corrective feedback again.
We learned text 2 and text 3, then answered the questions from the text.We had to make a group of 5 people and then, we wrote the descriptive of animals, person and places by without their name and friends had to guess what they are. 


In this class, I feel very fun because the activity was very interesting and it was very fun

 On Monday 30 January we learned chapter2: Narrative (Continue)

First of all, the teacher taught us about the purpose of narrative. Next, Sittichai had to go to in front of the class to told the friends about the text Secret that we leaned yesterday and Kittikarn  had to tell them what we did. 
After that, we discussed about the symbols in the story. The teacher made a group of 4-5 and discussed about that.
Then, one of each group had to present the work in front of the class. The teacher gave us the corrective feedback.
Next, we started chapter 3 continue : Descriptive. 
The teacher showed us the pictures of the animal,then we hat to write anything that described them including Type of animal, Diet, Appearance, Habitant. 
The last, we had to created the diagram to describe Komodo.  

In chapter 2, I felt bored because we leaned that yesterday.There was not excited anymore, but when we started to learned chapter 3 I thought that is so interesting chapter.

 On Sunday 29 January we started learned chapter 2: Narrative 

We talked about text ' Secret ' After that, the teacher assigned we to made a group of 4 - 5 to summary part one of that text.
When the time was over, one of each group had to go out to in front of the class to presented our summary. 
Next, we read part two continue and did the exercises from part two. Then, the teacher gave us the corrective feedback. 
We had to make a pair to correct the topic from the exercise E that we thought that most important.When we decided, Sittichai came to in front of the class to show the topic of each group and we counted the scroll for the best top 3 important topic.
The last activity, we drew a diagram of Kylie.   

I very love this class because that is make up class , there were a few of student.It made me dare to answer the questions more that I used to.

   On Monday 23 January we learned chapter1: Recount (Continue)

In the first of class, we talked about topic ' What you did on weekend ' 
After that, the teacher gave us the corrective feedback of the exercise that we did last week then, she assigned we to made a group of seven and summary the text ' Investigation report ' 
About 5 minutes later, one of our group had to go out to in front of the class to presented the summary that we did. The teacher gave us about half an hour to answered the questions from the text ' Investigation report ' 
Next, we started to learned chapter2: Narrative. We read the text ' Secret ' but didn't finish because the time was over so, we had to stop here.

I was very sleepy because there were lots of letters on the paper and that was morning. I think this lesson is very useful because it makes me know how to read the text to more understand.

    In the 16th of January 2017, that is the 2nd class in this semester. I learned about the recount.

    First, the teacher taught about how to analyze the text. After that, we had to do an exercise 1: Analyse the text below. We learned chapter 1: Recount.We had to read the text ' My grandpa's Funeral in Toraja ' After that, we did the exercise.When we finished, the teacher gave us the feedback correct answer.Finally, we created the diagram of the text to checked our understanding.

   In this class, I feel bored and sleepy.It was very hot because the air conditioner didn't work.

    we used scanning skill for reading for detail and used skimming skill to answered the questions after the text.

My Experience

     On Monday 2 January, I cannot describe how much I enjoyed my time traveling at Hindad hot spring for a day with my family, that’s a beautiful place and fully with the foreigner.

 I left home at 08.00 a.m. and returned at about 13.00 p.m. 

There were a lot of people because that’s a period of New Year. 

When we arrived, we matted on the lawn near the hot spring. 

After that, my brothers, sister and I went to the hot spring for

children but I didn’t like because it wasn’t hot enough for me.

I changed to another one for the old people. I love this so much! 

I soak in the water for very long. I heard that the hot spring can make

me healthier and have a glowing skin. Moreover, it helps treat many

diseases.

The food was unbelievable, although,it was a simple food, not 

expensive but I had a special time.My mom fed me a boiled eggs and fried pork with sticky rice. The sound of the little water fall made us felt relaxed. When we finished lunch time, we slept on the mat between sound of nature and the birds. At 13.00 p.m. we had to go home. It was easy trip and not far from my hometown but 

I was very excited and happy that I had a great time with family.

    This is the first class of this semester. First of all, the teacher gave us for 2 minutes to told about our interesting time on vacation, then she introduced the course that we have to learn. After that, the teacher gave the exercise sheet.We had to try to match the following words with te correct genres of text before learning.

   When we've done with the first exercise.We had to do the second continue,that was compete the sentences of each paragraph by using the words in the box.

The last exercise, we had to rewrite the sentences using the connectors in parenthesis.

Althought this course isn't English reading stategies but we still use the stategies to read the text, for instance skimming and scnning that we used today.

I think everything is so difficult in this course because in Thai language, I've problem with how o use the conjunction, that's why I told that very difficult for me.

The way that I have to solve this problem is I have to read about it more that I used to.

This subject will help the sentences that  you write more smooth when you write many sentenses and seem like the same story.
